Advanced English Speakers Q3 – Saving the Planet – Futurium / Humboldt Forum

 

How do we want to live? And what can and must humans do to make this desire a reality? In times of climate change and enormous technological progress, the advanced course addressed these and other questions at the Futurium and the Humboldtforum.

The three areas of reflection – nature, humanity, and technology – inspired us to devote ourselves to saving the planet and to present specific ideas. On the one hand, this was fun – for example, when it came to thinking about moving to Mars or giving different areas of Berlin a new look. On the other hand, it was serious – with a view to capitalism and intersectional discrimination, which ensure that ethnic groups with the least impact and responsibility are already experiencing the greatest extent of climate change.

Visually, the special exhibition Oceana and the permanent exhibition Rethinking Nature in particular provided new food for thought.

At the end of the day, we were able to let the many impressions sink in over hot chocolate and hot punch.
